Rose Dowling

Rose's passion for inclusion, social mobility and empowerment informs all her work at SHM. In every project she leads, Rose seeks to enable people from under-represented or excluded groups to have a stronger voice in solving the problems they face. She applies this philosophy to a wide range of work areas including research, evaluation, communications and leadership development.

Rose brings inspiration and creativity to her leadership of programmes for public, private and voluntary organisations. Rose's clients have included Channel 4, the National Youth Orchestra, the Learning and Skills Council, the British Council, the National Apprenticeships Service and the Commission for Racial Equality.

Commissioned by the educational charity Edge, Rose directed the Edge Learner Forum, a unique programme giving diverse young learners a way to get actively involved in changing the face of the education system. Under Rose's leadership over the course of six years, the Edge Learner Forum became an influential youth campaign for the improvement of education, enabling young people to work in equal partnerships with policy-makers, businesses, and education leaders to create new solutions to old problems in education.

Prior to joining SHM, Rose worked as a parliamentary researcher at the Human Rights Act Research Unit in the run-up to the implementation of the new Act. She held a fundraising post within a Higher Education environment building relationships with investors such as educational trusts and foundations and corporate donors.

Rose has a BA (Hons) in Modern History (The University of Sheffield), an MA in Modern American History (St Antony's College Oxford).
