Commission for Racial Equality, Promoting Social Interaction Amongst Ethnic Communities 2006

As part of the wider policy review following the London bombings, SHM was commissioned by the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) to design and conduct a programme of qualitative research to gather insights into people’s patterns of social interaction and their motivations for interacting. Working with community members in two local areas, SHM developed a set of principles for promoting social interaction between people from different ethnic backgrounds. The results of this research helped the CRE and partner organisations to develop their strategic thinking about promoting social interaction. To see the published report visit:
