Polly Woodford

Polly joined SHM in April 2008 as the communications consultant for the National Learner Panel. Since then she has performed the same role for the Driving Standard Agency’s Young People’s Forum and the Department for Children Schools and Families’ 14-19 Learner Panel. Polly also works in a wider capacity for the panels’ team as a recruitment agent and client engagement consultant – work that is a vital part of the success of the projects in which she is involved.

Polly’s interest in the education sector started when her own children (Maisie, 9, Gabriel, 8, and Laurence, 6) went to school, and she has subsequently become hugely involved in the field. Alongside the work she does within SHM, Polly became the founding member of PASS (Parental Alliance for Secondary Schools), sits on the governing body of the Hurlingham and Chelsea school, and is a Trustee of FASS (Friends of All Saints school).

Before joining SHM Polly had a career as an actress and as an award-winning gardener, founding and promoting a school’s initiative to encourage primary school children to grow and cook their own food. Polly has also managed her own business importing and trading wooden children’s toys from Poland, and was a Phoenix trader for 2 years.

Polly went to the Godolphin and Latymer School, read English at York University, completed the 3 year performance art diploma at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and has studied with the RHS.
