Erica Toth
Erica Toth is joint Managing Director of SHM and oversees SHM's portfolio of projects in the private sector. She is also currently serving as the head of the Relationships team.
Erica specialises in transformation strategy – in particular, on guiding organisations through large-scale change. As head of the Relationships team, one of Erica's main areas of focus is on driving and maintaining effective operational relationships between organisations, such as on outsourcing deals. This work has strong insight and mediation components to it. Erica also uses insights into motivation and behaviour to change how businesses work internally – for example, by creating ways of working for teams, organisation models and culture change. Erica has experience developing talent in global companies, including in emerging markets such as Russia. Finally, Erica also uses insights into motivation and behaviour to change how companies compete externally – for example, understanding and attracting consumers or building effective innovation processes and cultures. Erica's main clients include Unilever, Diageo, Givaudan, Accenture, BT, HP and ICAP. Erica is key to expanding SHM's work to new markets and to maintaining SHM's academic links, including with Trinity College Dublin, the London School of Economics and University College London. As part of this work, Erica is leading a project that seeks to transfer SHM's skills in mediating conflicts between organisations to conflict or post-conflict areas of the world.
Prior to joining SHM, Erica worked in media and politics. She was a booking producer for MSNBC News in the US and also worked as a legislative assistant to two US congressmen.
Erica graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in History. She then completed a Master's degree in History (Hons) at Oxford University (St. Catherine's College) in 2003 and a Master's degree in Global Politics (Merit) from the London School of Economics in 2005.
