Claire Askam

Since joining SHM Claire has worked in research, recruitment and project management roles across numerous projects. She currently plays a vital role within the Panels team area. Claire is part of the secretariat team responsible for the recruitment, event management, training and development and panel member liaison for The National Learner Panel, National Student Forum and 14-19 Learner Panel. Her role involves direct contact with panel members aged from 14yrs to 70yrs, as well as parents and teachers, assisting with administrative and safeguarding responsibilities, taking into account each individual panel member’s requirements, helping them to achieve their maximum during their time on the above named panels. Claire was also responsible for three panels who were recruited to assist the Driving Standards Agency in their consultation entitled ‘Changing the Way we Learn to Drive’. Members were encouraged to engage with other young people to increase learner voice and became ambassadors for this important opportunity for young people.
