Alexandria Broe
Alex joined SHM in autumn 2008 after completing an internship at SHM during her gap year. Since then she has worked on a number of different projects, particularly specialising in health. Some of her earliest work saw her participate in the production of a communications strategy for the respiratory disease COPD, and conduct research into the views of NHS staff, public and patients for the Values and Staff Pledges element of the NHS Constitution.
Alex sits within the Insight, Relationships and Transformations Team. To date she has contributed to reviews of social inclusion services, community equipment provision and transition services for people with Autism and Aspergers Syndrome, all of which were based in Telford. These pieces of work involved desk based research, analysis and interviews with commissioners and service providers. She has been involved in developing a strategy for Personality Disorder Services in London, and an organisational development project for the NHS Centre for Involvement (NCI).
More recently Alex has worked on a project for Creativity, Culture and Education (CCE), researching and analysing ten pilot sites that are running arts and cultural activities for children and young people. CCE asked SHM to help them to identify those ideas that could best work on a national scale. Alex was also part of a team working on a project for Tesco, interviewing customers, analysing data and assisting in workshops. Alex is now co-ordinating the COPD project again and is helping to create new business opportunities for SHM.
Alexandria studied Politics at the University of Sheffield.
